J.P. Vaillancourt Wins First Super Four Challenge Race at Legion
Sunday, June 1, Hawthorne Automotive night at Legion Speedway, kicked off the Super Four Challenge for the Super Street division. This is a joint effort between Legion Speedway in Wentworth, NH and Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT. The series challenges a driver to win four races in a row between the two tracks in the month of June. The first driver to achieve this wins a $500 bonus and 25 bonus points! #525 J.P Vaillancourt started the quest Sunday afternoon by winning race number one in the series. The next race is scheduled for Bear Ridge on Saturday night, June 7. Rounding out the top three in the Peanut's Auto Super Street/Limited Late Models were #4 Wade Prentice in second and #30 Sam Comeau in third.
The Mike's Automotive Modifieds saw #01 Ryan Avery picking up his first feature win in 2014. Avery was challenged by #77 Allan Hammond, who settled for taking second and #5 Gary Siemens took third.
In the Enfield Garage Outlaw Mini Stocks it would be #97 Craig Smith taking the checkers, followed by #12K John Knight and Chris Conroy #78 came in third.
The Bond Auto Parts Pure Stock main event was won by #4 Dan Collins, Ronny Bryson #5x win the race for second over #77 Ryan Ovitt, the third place finisher.
Legion Speedway has big plans for July 4, with a special Friday night show. In addition to the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Challenge, the Sprint Cars of New England will be racing, and at the end of the night there will be a fireworks show. Green flag will fly at 5 PM. No racing Sunday July 6.
