Jason Sanville Claims Win Number Five This Season
Submitted by: Alan Ward on 2017-09-20 at 13:03

The O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series saw Jason Sanville extend his slim points lead with win Number five this season in the Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modifieds with Toby Stark coming out on top of the Homestead Creation Sportsman Late Models for the fourth time this season. The Rand's Hardware Outlaw Mini Stocks had a first time winner with Nick Comeau coming out on top. The USAC Dirt Midgets made their only appearance of the season with Seth Carlson winning. The Wingless Auto Club saw Dylan Cook top the field and the night concluded with an Enduro won by Armand Boucher.

The Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modified Feature found Ricky Sanville claiming the lead from the outside pole position and lead the first lap. Before lap two was complete Tanner Seimons spun in turn four and collected three more competitors, causing the only caution of the event. On the restart Jason Sanville powered into the lead with Ricky Sanville settling into the second spot with Randy Howe third. As the laps rapidly clicked off the battle was for third. It took defending champion Derek O'Hearn about five laps to work his way by Howe to the third spot. From there the running order remained unchanged with Jason Sanville claiming his fifth win of the season and extending his slim points lead over Ricky Sanville who finished second. Derek O'Hearn was third with Randy Howe and Ryan Christian completing the top five.

The Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Model Feature was a caution laden affair that found Chris Clarke and Doug Boucher swap the top spot a few times throughout a multitude of cautions early in the race. Once things settled down Toby Stark flew to the front to take the top spot and held it throughout the rest of the event although he faced stiff challenges from both Hunter Nutter and Doug Boucher. When the checkers flew it was Toby Stark with the win, his fourth of the year. Doug Boucher was second with Hunter Nutter third. Matt Pike was fourth and Bob Crawford was fifth.

Nick Comeau claimed the first win of his career in the Rand's Hardware Outlaw Mini Stock Feature. While Comeau led every lap it was by no means an easy win as Tim St. John, Rich Willey and Robert Willey all at one point were beside Comeau challenging for the lead. At the checkers it was Nick Comeau with the win, Robert Willey was second with Erin Aiken third, Robert Willey fourth and Jacob Brown fifth.

The USAC Dirt Midgets made their only appearance of the season Friday night with Will Hull leading early. Seth Carlson then claimed the lead after the first caution and motored off to a comfortable win. Derek O'Hearn made a mid race pass on Hull to finish second with Hull third. Joe Kraweic was fourth with Jeff Horn completing the top five.

The Wingless Auto Club saw Dylan Cook lead the entire race to take the win. Mark Cole, who challenged Cook for the lead a couple of times, finished second with Sam Comeau third. Troy Comeau and Wade Prentice rounded out the top five.

The evening concluded with a non-stop Enduro. When the checkers flew it was Charmin' Armand Boucher that avoided the carnage to take the win.

With Championship night this week, September 22nd, the points races are still tight in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series with Jason Sanville showing an almost comfortable points lead over Ricky Sanville in the Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modifieds. In the Homestead Creation Sportsman Late Models Matt Pike has a very thin margin over Travis Smith with Rich Willey showing a slight advantage over Sean Lantas in the Rand’s Hardware Outlaw Mini Stocks.

As well as Championship night there will be Kid’s Bike Races and a Powder Puff along with Mechanic Races.
