Randy Howe Roars to Victory
Submitted by: Alan Ward on 2017-09-10 at 23:47

The O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series saw Randy Howe handily take the win in the Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modifieds with Travis Smith coming out on top of the Homestead Creation Sportsman Late Models for the second time this season. The Outlaw Mini Stocks saw Robert Willey dominate to take the win. Also on hand were the Sprint Cars of New England where Ryan Avery came home victorious and completing the jam packed event were the Granite State Mini Sprints with Ed Vickery winning the 500cc Main and Ben Bachand tops in the 600cc event.

The Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modified Feature saw Tanner Seimons jump to the lead when the green flag flew with current Points leader Jason Sanville sliding into second. Just as five laps were complete in the event Jason Sanville cut a left rear tire slowing dramatically before spinning in turn one to cause the caution to fly. On the ensuing green Roaring Randy Howe, in only his second appearance of the season, shot by Seimons to take the lead. While Howe and Seimons ran up front Jason Sanville was picking his way towards the front. Jason Sanville passed Ricky Sanville for third with seven laps to go and set his sight on Seimons. Just four laps later Sanville made a nifty move to claim second but didn't have enough time to catch the high flying Howe. At the checkers it was Randy Howe with the win, Jason Sanville second and Tanner Seimons rounded out the top three. Jim Boardman was fourth with Ricky Sanville fifth.

The Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Model Feature found Chris Clarke claim the lead at the outset of the race, holding it until the first caution of the event flew. On the restart Doug Boucher claimed the top spot, bringing Hunter Nutter with him to second. Boucher would later suffer mechanical failure while leading, rolling to a stop coming out of turn four. This handed the top spot to Hunter Nutter, who only held it for a single lap before Travis Smith slipped to the front. At the checkers it was Travis Smith with his second win of the season, Hunter Nutter was second with Scott Heath third. Matt Pike and Chris Clarke completed the top five.

The Rand's Hardware Outlaw Mini Stocks saw Robert Willey absolutely dominate the event, leading the entire distance to take the win, his first of the year. William Partridge finished a season best second with rookie Nick Comeau a career best third. Eric Castiglioni was fourth with Rich Willey fifth.

The Sprint Cars of New England Feature Christine Boesch lead early with Tyler Austin working by her to take the lead with six laps complete. Austin led until just past the halfway point when Ryan Avery worked his way past Austin to claim the top spot, which he held for the remainder of the event to take the win. Matt Hoyt finished second with Clay Dow third. Tyler Austin was fourth with Will Hull fifth.

The Granite State Mini Sprint 500cc Main event went caution free with Ed Vickery taking the win over Kyle Pittman and Joe Kemp. The 600cc feature saw Ben Bachand winning with Zach Herbert second and Kyle Belliveau third.

Appearing this Friday, September 15th along with all the cars and stars of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series will be the USAC Dirt Midgets and the Wingless Auto Club. An Enduro will complete the evening.

For all you parents there will be Kid's Bike races in two weeks, September 22nd.
