Jason Sanville Tops Again In The Sportsman Modifieds
Submitted by: Alan Ward on 2017-07-31 at 20:58

Current Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modified Points Leader Jason Sanville extended his lead with a Division leading fourth Victory Friday night. Doug Boucher Authored a strong performance to take the win in the Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Models with Jonathan Baker best in the Rand's Hardware Outlaw Mini Stocks. Joining the regular divisions of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series were the Granite State Mini Sprints and the Wingless Auto Club. Victories went to Riley Chaffee and Kyle Belliveau in the Granite State Mini Sprints with Troy Comeau winning the Wingless Auto Club Main Event.

When the green flag flew in The Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modifieds Richie Gilpatrick jumped into the lead from the pole position. Two laps later the red flag flew for Ricky Sanville who flipped on the backstretch. When racing resumed Gilpatrick still led with Jason Sanville getting by Tanner Siemons for second. The running order remained the same until the red flag flew again with eleven laps complete for a flipping JP Vallaincourt, who ironically rolled just a few feet from where Ricky Sanville did. This time when the starter unfurled the green flag Jason Sanville got the jump and moved to the lead. From there Jason Sanville went unchallenged to take his fourth win of the season. Richie Gilpatrick finished in the runner-up spot with Wayne Stearns third, Tanner Siemons fourth and Blake Shepard fifth.

Defending Track Champion Doug Boucher started to turn his season around Friday night in The Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Models. Boucher, who has had an incredibly bad string of luck with mechanicals failures and being in the wrong place at the wrong time for the first half of the season, took the lead at the onset of the race, leading until Toby Stark nosed ahead for a lap before Boucher moved back to the front. From there Doug Boucher held off repeated challenges from Toby Stark to take the popular win, his first of the year. Stark finished an extremely strong second with Travis Smith third. Matt Pike and Scott Heath completed the top five.

The Rand's Hardware Outlaw Mini Stocks saw Earl Fleming jump to the lead on the initial start with Jonathan Baker in second. Two laps later Baker blasted by Fleming to take the lead. A couple of laps later Rich Willey claimed the second spot with Dave Durkee sliding into third. The front three stayed the same through a couple of cautions but on the last restart as Baker and Willey motored away Chris Conroy made a fine move to take the third spot from Durkee. When the Checkers flew six laps later Jonathan Baker had his second win of the year. Rich Willy was second with Chris Conroy third. Erin Aiken and Dave Durkee completed the top five.

The O'Reilly Auto Parts Granite State Mini Sprints saw Riley Chaffee take advantage of Eric Relation spinning out of the lead near the halfway point, taking a couple of other cars out with him. When the race restarted Chaffee moved into the lead and went on to take the win. Ed Vickery was second with Ken Stridsburg third. The 600cc Main Event was the Kyle Belliveau show as he took the lead before a lap was complete and went on to take an easy win. Dick Lamotte was second with Tony Shaw third.

The Wingless Auto Club saw Wade Prentice lead the first seven laps before falling victim to the intense pressure that Troy Comeau was applying. Once Comeau took the lead he was not challenged and rolled to the win. Allen Hammond made a late race pass to secure second with Wade Prentice third.

This Friday night at 7:00PM, August 4th joining the regular divisions of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series will be the Sprint Cars of New England with a twist as it is Wingless Weekend so they will be running topless. The evening concludes with an Enduro.
