Submitted by: Alan Ward on 2017-07-09 at 20:05

It was Ryezak Oil Mid-Season Championship Night at The Legion Speedway Friday, July 14th for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series. Jason Sanville took his third win of the season in the Peanut’s Auto Sportsman Modifieds. Matt Pike took his second consecutive win and third on the year in the Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Models and David Flanders was victorious in the Outlaw Mini Stocks. Also on hand were the Granite State Mini Sprints where Ken Stridsburg took the win in the 500cc Feature and Kyle Belliveau topped the 600cc Main.

The Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modified ran two 25-Lap Segments for the Ryezak Oil Mid-Season Championship, determining an overall winner by combining the two segments. The first segment saw Lenny Pillsbury jump to the lead when the green flew, holding the top spot until Ricky Sanville moved to the front with eight laps complete. Sanville would the rest of the way in the segment to take the win. Jason Sanville was second with Tanner Siemons, Derek O'Hearn and Travis Shinn completing the top five. Richie Gilpatrick jumped to the lead at the start of the second segment but only led the first lap before Derek O'Hearn blasted to the front from his fifth starting spot. From there it was all O'Hearn as he survived one restart and built a nice cushion to take the easy win. Once again Jason Sanville was second and Tanner Siemons third with Ricky Sanville and Lenny Pillsbury completing the top five. Jason Sanville was the overall winner by the virtue of his two second place runs. Derek O'Hearn and Ricky Sanville tied for the next spot with O'Hearn getting second as the position in a tie goes to the highest finisher in the last segment. Ricky Sanville was third with Tanner Siemons and Lenny Pillsbury rounding out the top five.

The Homestead Creations Sportsman Late Model Main Event saw Bob Crawford take the lead from the outside pole position when the green flew. Crawford led until Matt Pike moved to the front on lap four. From there it was all Matt Pike as he garnered his second consecutive win. Doug Boucher finally shook the monkey off his back with his first top three of the season by finishing second. Travis Smith was third with Toby Stark fourth and Bob Crawford fifth.

When the green flag flew in the Rand's Hardware Outlaw Mini Stocks Main Event Nick Comeau took the point from the pole, leading lap one. David Flanders made short work of the field though to annex the lead on lap two from his fourth starting spot. Flanders would go on to maintain the lead through multiple cautions and take his first win of the season. Jacob Brown would finish a season best second with Sean Lantas third, Jack Cook fourth and Rich Willey fifth.

The Granite State Mini Sprint 500cc Feature was a caution laden, attrition filled event that found Ken Stridsburg take the win with Riley Chaffee second and Owen Carbee third. The 600cc Main saw John Mills lead until the races’ only yellow. On the restart Kyle Belliveau swept into the lead and took the win. Mills claimed second with Dick Lamotte third.

A 50-Lap Enduro completed the night with Shane LaBraney taking the win over Tim Martin and Frank Putney.

This Friday night at 7:00PM, July 21st is Homestead Creation night with the Sportsman Late Models running twin 25’s with the Sprint Cars of New England joining the regular divisions of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series.
