It was a wild week for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series with lots of side by side door slamming racing and a couple of upside down competitors.
The Peanuts Auto Sportsman Modifieds found Ricky Sanville jump into the lead at the drop of the green, Sanville held the top spot until after the races' second and last caution with seven laps complete. On the restart Sanville jumped back into the top spot but bobbled coming out of turn four where both Ryan Avery and Jason Sanville touched the out of shape Ricky Sanville. At this point Avery jumped into the top spot and slowly pulled away to take his third win of the season with what turned into a dominating performance. Jason Sanville finished a solid second with Louie Cadwell making a drive from the rear to finish third. Derek O'Hearn claimed fourth with Ricky Sanville fifth.
The Petro Mart of Enfield Super Streets had a wild event that was shortened due to time constraints. Derrick Stearns blasted into the lead at the drop of the green. With three laps complete there was an incident in turns one and two that involved half the field, essentially blocking the track. When the green flew again it was Stearns once again in the front, but not for long as Matt Pike made his way into the lead on lap five. The Red flag flew on lap seven for Hunter Nutter, who was forced into the backstretch wall and ended up on his roof, Nutter was unharmed but was done for the evening. Pike held the lead through a few more cautions, but coming to the white flag Pike slipped a little high and that was all the opening JP Vaillancourt, who started last on the field, needed as he dove low and to the lead, taking the Checkers the next time around for his fifth win of the Season in only his sixth start. Pike finished a disappointing second with Bob Crawford Jr third, Derrick Stearns fourth and Travis Smith fifth.
Aaron Bunker once again made short work of the field in the Enfield Garage Outlaw Mini Stock Feature. Bunker swiftly moved to the lead on lap five after starting seventh on the field. Bunker would go on to score the easy win, his fourth of the year. Current Outlaw Mini Stock Points' leader Matt Boucher finished second with Mike Lique third. Jack Cook and Jonathan Baker rounded out the top five.
The Granite State Mini Sprints were also on hand with Kyle Pittman topping the 500cc Class after taking the lead with seven laps in the books. In the 600cc Class Kyle Belliveau moved to the lead with six laps complete and went on to take the Victory.
This week in addition to all the regular classes of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series the Sprint Cars of New England will be in attendance to make up the third leg of their Triple Crown Series that was rained out earlier in the season.
The Legion Speedway goes to post every Friday night at 7:00PM and is located on Route 25 at the Wentworth/Rumney NH Town line.
