It was a full evening of action at the Legion Speedway Friday night with the competitors of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series putting on a great show. In the Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modifieds Trevor Randlett won his first career Automobile race and Tim St. John was victorious in the Mini Stocks. Joining the regular divisions were the Sprint Cars of New England where Lacey Hanson ran to the win with Jason Goff picking up the win in the USAC Dirt Midgets. Also on the schedule were the Granite State Mini Sprints where Eric Relation won the 500cc Feature and Zach Herbert came out on top of the 600's. The night concluded with an Enduro that was dominated by Jonathan Baker.
The Peanut's Auto Sportsman Modified Main event was dominated by Trevor Randlett, who led every lap. Todd Buckwold claimed second just after the halfway point but could never muster much of a challenge for the high flying Randlett and then had to hold off Ricky Sanville, who finally shook off almost an entire month of bad luck. At the finish of the very fast paced event it was Trevor Randlett taking the win, the first of his career. Todd Buckwold was a stout second with Ricky Sanville third. Jeff Huntington and Ryan Christian completed the top five
The Sprint Cars of New England were making their last appearance of the year at the speedway. Mike Kondrat jumped to the lead at the wave of the green and after just a few laps was challenged by Lacey Hanson. Once Hanson took the lead she started to pull away from the field until a caution bunched the field up, but on the restart Hanson once again powered into the lead and sailed off to the win. Matt Hoyt moved to second mid race to claim the runner-up spot with Bobby Hackel making his first start at The Legion Speedway coming all the way to third after starting last on the field. Mike Kondrat was fourth and Jordan Fornwalt completed the top five.
The USAC Dirt Midgets made their only appearance of the season Friday night. Jeff Horn led until a lap ten caution for the disabled car of Mike Chaffee. On the restart Jason Goff fired into the lead and went on to take the win. Will Hull made his way to second after starting scratch on the field and Joe Krawiec finished third. Early Leader Jeff Horn was fourth with Bobby White fifth.
The Rand's Hardware Mini Stocks saw ageless veteran Jack Cook led the first three laps before Tim St. John claimed the top spot. Just two laps later the yellow flew for Jack Cook, who lost a right rear hub assembly in turn four. St. John retained the lead on the restart and with stood pressure from Sean Lantas to take the victory. Lantas was second with David Flanders third. Kevin LaForest and A.J. Gelsi completed the top five
The Granite State Mini Sprints were also on hand with Eric Relation coming home victorious in the 500cc class with Cody Willette second and Matt Collins third. The 600cc class saw Zach Herbert take the win with Toby Tatro second and Tyler Jones third.
This Friday night, September 21st will be the last night of the season and joining the regular divisions of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Twilight Racing Series will be the Wingless Auto Club and the Bear Ridge Speedway Sportsman Coupes!
